Melbourne Chapter in Australia Day Parade 2008

Dear all Sharanu,
This year Basava Samithi of Australasia has being welcomed to join the 26th January 2008 - Australia Day Parade.
This is a great honor for all of us to be involved in this great event. Participation in the Australia Day Parade portrays that we not only share the Australian values and spirit, but also gives us an opportunity to show our Culture, Background, Spiritual involvement and philosophical life that we lead in this busy life.

Research has shown that around 13.5 million Australians would be celebrating Australia in some way. Thousands of Victorians from all walks of life will come together for the 2008 Australia Day Peoplei's March. The walk takes in the greatest views of the city as it moves from the Town Hall, along Swanston Street to the beautiful Alexandra Gardens. The Governor, Premier, Lord Mayor, Australia Day Ambassadors and new Australian Citizens will join the end of the March.

We will be advising you details of point of contact and time for the start of the parade, once we are advised by the Australia Day Committee.

Basava Samithi Committee is currently working on getting white T-shirt with BSOA logo ready to wear during the parade. The details of purchase and size will be advised in the upcoming email. BSOA Committee has decided that the men would be wearing the White T-shirt with logo and ladies have an option to wear, White T-shirt with logo, Salwar Kammeez or Saree's.

The Parade concludes at Alexander Gardens and we all as a big family can enjoy delicious food bought and made with love and affection by one and all. After food we can enjoy the activities conducted by City of Melbourne.
