New Zealand Chapter of BSOAA was inaugurated by Shri Ma. Ni. Pa. Mallikarjuna Devaru, Sarpabhushan Mutt, Bangalore during May 2001 and Sri Sri Shivamurthy Murugharajendra Mahaswamiji, Sri Bruhanmutt, Chitradurga has laid strong foundation in April 2002 of Veerashaiva philosophy in New Zealand by conducting mass prayers of Lingapooja with introduction of Sahaja Shivayoga and also common programmes of “Maneyalli Mahamane”. His revolutionary ideas and practices with out any blind faith which has deep rooted since Vedic period in the community and also universal preaching of Sharana philosophy by avoiding discriminations of cast, creed, colour, sex, power and money were liked by all community members even other than Veerashaivas. Due to this simple and straight forward appealing to the common man approach of praying, nearly 25 families meet every month second Saturday in individual member’s house on turn base for “Maneyalli Mahamane” programme from 5.00 to 8.00 PM. The programme starts with mass prayer of Sahaja Shivayoga with Istalinga as media. Then follows by solo as well as group vachana reciting and devotional songs, reading and discussing of Vachana literature, mobile library service and prasad. This programme is picking up its popularity and members are inviting their non Veerashaiva friends to introduce their philosophy to them. The organizers of this programme are planing to introduce simple way of understanding Veerashaiva Philosophy to the younger generation who would be the leaders of tomorrow and right people to understand better things with clear and open mind. Once they are convinced, they can take up to others better than present generation
